A few months ago I was able to host a DIY floral crown party with the sweetest ladies and the cutest decor. I suppose I wasn’t the only one who thought it was the cutest since the team at Charleston Weddings magazine featured the entire bridal brunch in their Wedding Workbook section!

Still in awe over everything! The table greenery, the invitations, the mimosa bar! ;)

Heads Carolina, Tails California

So I started out my trip to California with a bright and cheery drive to the airport at 3:45AM. I know, I know- why did I leave so early for the Charleston airport if my flight wasn't until 6AM. Well apparently if you thought that, you've never actually met me before. Before the flight, I lost count of how manyFriends episodes I watched and how many times I checked Instagram. It had been about a year since I'd flown by myself, so naturally I was a little nervous.

How to Throw a Flower Crown Bridal Brunch

Hey everyone, Molly here! I’m one of the new girls to join the Fetes de Fleurs squad here in Charleston, SC! I got to host my first DIY floral crown party and oh my, what fun!

My first party was eight ladies gathering in celebration of their friend, Katie, for the cutest bridal brunch.

I am not kidding when I say cutest either! Luckily for me, one of the ladies in attendance is a wedding photographer! She was able to capture the most amazing photos of the brunch, decorations, crowns being made, and most important- the fun being had! Below I'm sharing some of the fun that we had making our flower crowns while popping some bubbly!

The possibilities with florals at a bridal shower are endless!

This cake? The frozen carnation ice cubes? Perfection!

How gorgeous is this table setup? What great attention to detail this group of girlfriends had for their bestie's special celebration and day.

For florals, the girls wanted pinks, purples and whites, as well as a few fallish type florals. I went with different shades of mums, carnations and waxflower, a few choices of greenery, baby’s breath, aster, and some solidago for the more fall look! If you are trying to throw a flower crown bridal brunch take note of the flowers and greenery we used as inspiration for your party.

Remember, we have locations in many US cities now and are growing to more so be sure to check to see if we are hosting flower parties in your city here.

Since we had so many flowers to choose from, we sat everything up as a market vibe so the girls could go 'shopping' for their crown's florals. This is a Fetes de Fleurs staple. We always setup a flower bar so the girls can shop for their favorites to add to their crowns they will be making.

The bride didn’t know I was going that Fetes de Fleurs was going to be in attendance, so we got to surprise her during the middle of their bridal brunch.

Do you think she was excited? (Hint: she was!)

Once we surprised her we were able to start getting to work on the flower crown class!

How lovely are these ladies flower crowns they are making? They did such a great job. I was very impressed with how quickly everyone caught on. Just an FYI for those of you thinking of hosting a flower crown party...If you use Fetes de Fleurs we will help you and your group as much as you need or want! We really want to make sure you come away from the flower crown party knowing how to make the flower crowns. This is a fun way to learn a new skill that you could use over and over again for future parties that you throw or even for the wedding day for the bride to be!

I mean don't these ladies look so happy? Makes us happy to see the cheer and joy that flower crowns can bring to a celebration like a bridal shower brunch.

One of our favorite parts of a flower party is being able to see how the personality of each lady comes out in their creations! It is always incredible to hear from the group of ladies in a flower party with us how much their end creations match their personality and style!

Even I got to join in on the photo fun!

Working hard or hardly working? ;)

In addition to the girls making their own crowns, Katie’s sweet pup was also in need of her own crown for their upcoming engagement photos.

The bride-to-be is gorgeous in her engagement photos below, but how precious is sweet little Ella in her dog flower crown from their Folly Beach engagement session? One lucky pup with these amazing parents.

I'm so happy that Fetes de Fleurs and I could be a part of this special day! We wish the best to our lovely bride as she gets berried at the end of this month! (Her soon-to-be last name is Berry, get it? Ha!)

The floral fun has just began, so until the next party!

Life in the Lowcountry: Local Vibes

One year ago I packed my car (my mom's car, too), said goodbye to my family, my friends, my dog, my state and drove around eleven hours to my new home. We arrived to Charleston around 10p.m., so unpacking the cars was out of the question. Nonetheless, the guy I was subleasing from had left the keys under the front door mat (safe, right?), so we drove over to take a peak inside. The apartment was located in downtown Charleston, so it had a keycode you needed in order to enter. I didn't know the keycode. Luckily someone was leaving the sidegate, so I slipped in behind them and pretended I knew what I was doing! Ha! My plan was working until I realized I didn't know how to actually get back out of the gate and had to ask some random stranger that apparently didn't even live there. When I finally figured out what the heck was going, I went to find my new crib. The first apartment I came upon had about fifteen palmetto bugs lining the top of the front door. I squealed when I looked down to see one running right under my feet. What had I got myself into? I didn't have an actual conversation with someone until a week later when I started work. (Unless you count chatting with an Old Navy worker a conversation?)  I spent my free days before work lounging on the beach and exploring my new city. I was (still am) obsessed with downtown Charleston, even if I am seeing and going to the same places. I made friends at work, but it wasn't until a month later when a new intern started and demanded that the out-of-staters should start hanging out more. And that was the beginning of eating our way thru Charleston, trips to the beaches, midnight swims and crab hunting, nights of trivia, karaoke, and dancing while drinking cheap drinks. I've been to "The Bachelor" casting calls, local brand and store launch parties, cannonballed into the Charleston Harbor, sat by the runway of Charleston Fashion Week, *partied* with "Southern Charm" cast members, toured the harbor during sunset, ran the Cooper River Bridge Run, survived a hurricane and so many other incredible things within the last year of living in the Lowcountry. Cheers to one year and hopefully more months of exciting adventures! P.S.- Can I officially be a local now?

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME!

Opening day, essentially a national holiday to some. The smell of cut grass, peanut shells crunching beneath your feet, the beginning of warmer weather and dinners that consist of hot dogs and cheap beer.

Thursday, April 6, the Charleston RiverDogs open the gates of Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park (commonly known as The Joe) to host the Lexington Legends at 7:05 p.m., in a four-game weekend series that will start off their 2017 season.

RiverDog fans take note- this isn’t just any old Opening Day celebration. Nope. This is an Opening Day AND birthday celebration! The Joe celebrates its 21st birthday with a full on party. What better way to celebrate a 21st birthday, but with a Thirsty Thursday night. That’s right, join the RiverDogs celebration for Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX. Catch the game while partying with music by DJ Natty Heavy and dollar beers at the Budweiser Ashley View Pub. In addition to dollar beers, the first 3,000 fans in attendance will also receive a RiverDogs magnet schedule.

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...right? Or in dining at The Joes' case, buy me some Jacked Cotton Candy Burgers and Angry Apple Pie Shakes! The RiverDogs Food & Beverage department announced that a few new treats will be added to the 2017 season’s menu! Make sure you plan to get one of the following on your next trip to The Joe:

• Jacked Cotton Candy Burger—a combination of cotton candy and cracker jacks topping your normal burger.

• Angry Apple Pie Shake—a sweet treat made with Angry Orchard Cider, fresh apple pie, cinnamon, and vanilla ice cream. #SUMMERGOALS

• Dorito Nacho Dog—an all-beef Hebrew National six-inch hot dog topped with crushed Doritos chips, taco cheese, and jalapenos. Yum!

• New Awlin’s Dog—Your traditional dog topped with freshly cooked crawfish, sautéed peppers and onions with Cajun-inspired brown gravy topping it all off, I do declare.

• Apple and pecan pie can be found at Pie House for a little midgame dessert.

• “Take Me Out With the Crowd” Nachos—chips tossed with cinnamon sugar, topped with cracker jacks, and drizzled with caramel sauce.

• Funnel cake fries at the State Fair stand.

Typical baseball meals not your favorite? Try an alternative at the MUSC Health Fresh & Fit Café like the Harvest Salad, an entire head of lettuce stuffed with quinoa, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, fresh fruit, and feta cheese served up in a souvenir baseball helmet. Also, try Bill Murray’s Black Bean Burger, a local handmade black bean burger topped with cilantro slaw, or how about other a la cart items like the turkey burgers, veggie cups, and fruit cups!

Catch me at the RiverDogs' opening game, I'll be at the Budweiser Ashley View Pub cheering on my favorite Holy City baseball team!

Tickets for Opening Day and other games throughout the season can be purchased online or at the stadium gates. Prices for seating sections vary.
